Last night however, I heard it loud and clear, at The Critics Choice Awards. Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep tied for best actress-and it was one win sealed with a kiss.
The presenter Bradley Cooper handled the tie perfectly, announcing there was a tie, before presenting the award to Streep, allowing her to give her acceptance speech before announcing Bullock as the co-winner.
It was when Bullock got to the stage she decided to have some fun with the tie, and Streep...Her speech was also one of the highlights of the evening, she knew well enough to not take herself to seriously, even commenting about how surprised the critics must have been to even have her in consideration.
The host of the evening was the charming Kristin Chenoweth-the petite powerhouse lent her comedic timing and killer voice to the evening making it less drag-on-ish than normal, thanks.
All in all the evenings winners should be gearing up for the upcoming Globes speeches they may need to make. In the past, the Critics Choice winners were a good bet for the Globes as well. Sunday is the big show, and we'll have to wait and see if they show the same love, or if they throw a few surprises in the mix...Im keeping my eye on The Hurt Locker, and Precious-now theres a tie I could get behind.
